It really is a heartbreaking day in Indianapolis. All great things must come to an end, but those great things will never be forgotten. I know I won’t forget.
Thank you Peyton for everything you’ve given to this city, and to me as a fan.
I think Peyton looks best in Cardinal Red!!
I know most of you don’t care, but I do. This isn’t for sale; it’s just how I feel. I’m completely gutted. Peyton Manning was the reason I started to love football again. He’s the smartest player in the history of the game, and for 14 years, he was ours. I was proud to have Manning as a champion of Indianapolis, in the same way I’m proud of David Letterman never turning his back on his roots, in the same way I’m proud of Ernie Pyle as a trailblazing journalist, in the same way I’m proud of John Mellencamp as my own personal Springsteen. He wasn’t born here, but he was made here, and for the flyoveriest of flyover states, that’s enough.
